Belpark Meet and Greet night 0

February 22nd, 2012

Stephen Early imparting his words of wisdom at Belpark Meet and Greet

Belpark held a meet and greet night on saturday 18th February for new members and those thinking of taking up triathlon. We had a great turn out and chairman Kevin Keane kicked off the night by explaining what the club had to offer in terms of training, upcoming Easter training camp and not forgetting the social scene. Swim coach Stephen (The Fish) Early gave his top tips for how to tackle the most intimidating of the three disciplines. Members Niall Michel spoke about how to juggle training with work and family demands and Helen French spoke about her experience of getting into triathlon at beginner level. Ladies officer Ellen Murphy updated attendees on ladies training initiatives planned over the coming months. Belpark members Bill McCormack, Niall Somers, Eilis Connery and Mick Bolger were on hand to answer various queries and some snazzy tri bikes were on display just to whet people’s appetite for triathlon.
Big thanks to Niall Somers for organising the evening.

Membership
Belpark membership has gone live on the Triathlon Ireland website.
At €20 we have the lowest membership costs in the country and all the money collected goes back to supporting club activities.
As well as being members of the club, all members must take out some form of TI membership this year to be insured for training sessions.
It’s vital that everyone gets on board with this one as without it we won’t be able to allow people come on training sessions.
Associate membership of TI starts at €18 and If you plan to race more than three times in 2012 go for an Annual Race Licence (€53) – this will cover you for all Belpark training sessions and for all TI-sanctioned races.
A full list of membership options and the benefits of membership can he found here.
