Belpark History

Belpark will be twenty five years old in 2011. Belpark Triathlon Club

In 1986 a group from the Ranelagh based ‘BELgrave square harriers’ athletics club who trained in ‘bushy PARK’ set up BELPARK. They used the BEL from Belgrave and PARK from Bushy Park to give the name BELPARK.

Over the years the sport of Triathlon has changed significantly, but we feel that the club’s founding ethos of inclusion and competition remain true. A few of the significant events, results, members are listed below. Some are in the past like hosting the numerous World Champions and future olympians in the 1999 Dublin City Triathlon and 2008 TriAthy, whereas others like our current record breaking race record is hopefully just the taste of what is to come!!!

We are currently at an all time high in terms of membership numbers. In 2009 we reached 100 members for the first time.  We expect over 150 members in 2011.
