News & Messages
Racing
Eimear Fitzmaurice showed excellent early season form by taking third place at the recent Naas Duathlon. Mick Bolger also did brillianly, finishing in 6th place.
We sometimes miss a club athlete who puts in a great performance, let us know how you are getting on (with a picture preferably) at Belpark-at-gmail-.com
Belpark Spring Training Camp
Belpark are heading the south west for a Spring training camp. The camp will be run over the 3.5 days of April 6th to 9th and will involve lots of swimming in UL’s 50m pool with professional coaching, biking around the rolling (and not so rolling) hills of east Limerick and Clare, and run session on the UL track.
Guest speakers are also being lined up, there might even be a trip to the pub!
An entry form, final prices and more details will appear on the website in the coming days.
Membership
Belpark membership has gone live on the Triathlon Ireland website.
At €20 we have the lowest membership costs in the country and all the money collected goes back to supporting club activities.
As well as being members of the club, all members must take out some form of TI membership this year to be insured for training sessions.
It’s vital that everyone gets on board with this one as without it we won’t be able to allow people come on training sessions.
Associate membership of TI starts at €18 and If you plan to race more than three times in 2012 go for an Annual Race Licence (€53) – this will cover you for all Belpark training sessions and for all TI-sanctioned races.
A full list of membership options and the benefits of membership can he found here.
New Members
A series of bike rides for new members and beginners will start next Saturday February 4th. Meet-up at the Clubhouse in Rathfarnham village at 9:30am. Brian Crinion will take the first spin, which should proceed at a reasonable pace. The next beginners spin will be lead by Stephen Early on February 18th.
Meet and Greet
A ‘meet and greet’ evening for all members will be held on the evening of February 18th in the clubhouse. This is a chance to catch up with people you haven’t met in a while and for new-comers to get some advice on triathlon from seasoned vets. Everyone is encouraged to come along for a while and have a cup of tea (and cake!).
Rathfarnham WSAF
It’s still not to late to take out membership of Rathfarnham running club at the reduced Belpark rate of €50. Regular attendees will know how excellent the Rathfarnham sessions are and how lucky Belpark is to be associated with the club. To pay your sub email belpark-at-gmail.com
Club Championship 2012
Hook or by Crook Triathlon Saturday June 16th has been selected again for the Belpark Club Race 2012.
Dunmore East, Co Waterford hosts the event which has been great fun over the past few years. The race is also a National Series event this year, allowing you to swoop in for NS points and club bragging rights.
Club Gear
Now’s the time to put in your order if you need a race suit or training gear for the coming season. A fresh order will be placed with kit supplier Champion Systems this month so if you need anything email belpark at gmail com asap.
